Moving from auto mailings

Auto mailings are closing. A message sequence is now built from two parts:

  • a bot scenario with "Delay" or "Timer" blocks — the messages themselves and the pauses between them;
  • an automatic mailing — it sends this scenario to everyone who starts matching the filters, the way an auto mailing used to subscribe contacts on its own.

There is no need to rebuild a ready auto mailing: it can be moved with a button.

How to move one

  1. Open the auto mailing in the "Auto mailings" section.
  2. Click "Move to mailing".
  3. Check what will be moved and click "Move to mailing" in the window.

After the move, the auto mailing stops and opens read-only. Its page gets the "Open scenario" and "Open mailing" links.

What you get

In the auto mailing After the move
Steps The scenario "Auto mailing: name" made of "Timer" and "Scenario" blocks. The steps' scenarios stay as they were
Step timing The "Timer" settings: after how long or at what time to send the step
Tag filter "Condition" blocks before each step and the automatic mailing's filter
Subscribing new contacts An automatic mailing with the auto mailing's name
Current subscribers Continue from the step they stopped at
  • Former subscribers — both those who have already gone through the sequence and those who are going through it — do not get it a second time.
  • "Also send to those who match now" is off in the mailing: the auto mailing did not subscribe all matching contacts at once either, only those whose data changed.
  • A running auto mailing becomes a running mailing if the bot owner has Pro and the whole auto mailing filter was moved into the mailing. If part of the filter was not moved, the mailing is created but not started: without those conditions it would pick more contacts than the auto mailing did — check the filters and start it yourself.
  • A stopped auto mailing gives a mailing that is not started, and the subscribers are not moved — otherwise all overdue steps would go out to them at once. Start the auto mailing before moving it if the subscribers need to be kept.

What is not moved

  • Recurring "by days of the week" steps. A mailing by days of the week suits them.
  • The "Contained in the table", Ysell status and Bitrix24 stage filters. Neither the scenario nor the mailing checks them. Without them the mailing picks more contacts — check its filters after the move.
  • Filters by subscription date and day and by the number of referrals go into the mailing's filter, but not into the scenario's "Conditions": they decide who starts the sequence, not who continues it.

The move window shows in advance which steps and filters will not be moved.

After the move

  • If the mailing did not start — the auto mailing was stopped, part of the filter was not moved, there is no Pro subscription or the bot already has 24 mailings running — a warning appears on the auto mailing's page. Start the mailing in the "Mailings" section.
  • To make the sequence stop for those who have already bought, check the "Condition" blocks in the scenario. How this works is on the Automatic mailing page.
  • The bot owner or an employee with access to the bot's scenarios and mailings can move an auto mailing.
